The best decision is a well-informed decision. Having an experienced and qualified adviser as your sounding board helps you navigate life decisions confidently as they arise.
Our clients greatly value the ongoing support we provide when they are making life decisions. Having a sounding board to discuss their ideas helps them make well informed decisions, typically saving them a lot of unnecessary risk, cost, or time, and providing them with confidence in their chosen strategy.
For instance, a client about to turn 67 called to discuss whether she should upgrade to a bigger, much more expensive home to live out the rest of her retirement in. Her reason? Her children told her this would use up nearly all of her savings, making her eligible for the Age Pension. It wasn’t until we spoke that she realised the Age Pension would give her far less than she needed to fund her living costs. Downsizing her home instead would let her put some of the proceeds from the sale of her current home towards funding an even more comfortable retirement than she already could afford. In a matter of weeks she had found a freshly renovated property in a community she loves, and near people and things that were important to her.
Another client had found a commercial property for their business to move to when their lease was up in the coming months. Although it would mean a much larger portion of their investment portfolio was in property than we had initially planned, and a single property at that, his business had entered a rapid growth phase with increasing long term flows of revenue for years to come. After balancing the pros and cons in our discussions, he moved forward confidently with an offer, which was accepted, and their business has continued to go from strength to strength.
